Now, this is two-fold, and we want to talk about your real reflection, both pre and post-surgery or procedure, and about your reflections of the larger past you leave behind.
Firstly, as someone who is struggling with their weight, when you look in the mirror, what do you see?
We spoke at length to many patients recently, asking them this question retrospectively, and some of their replies made us a little sad; no, they made us very sad.
Some said their weight had made them feel depressed or isolated, unable to maintain relationships, others angry, shamed, and embarrassed, and some admitted that their weight had affected their mental health, some to serious extremes.
But then, they took the plunge and joined the losers bench with us, safely at one of our many hospitals or clinics throughout the UK.

Does any of this resound with you, as you debate making the call to see if you are eligible for one of our procedures, if you can afford it?check list

Then, post-surgery, once the weight loss has kicked in, you’ll sometimes weirdly still find yourself seeing the old you, the larger, overweight you. It will take time and patience with yourself to see your transformation, to appreciate the journey you’ve started on. You will almost talk yourself away from the fact that you are in fact evolving into a smaller version of yourself.
Allow yourself to embrace the changes in your body, as well as your mind. Your body will become smaller, right down to your shoe size. But your mind may take a little longer to appreciate just how far you’ve come and are going to continue to go! But it will come and the new you will emerge, stronger, fitter, happier and healthier!
Finally, the reflection on ‘wishing I’d done it sooner’ will frustratingly enter your mind. The wasted years of being overweight and unhappy, unable to enjoy your life, the way you enjoy it now. The annoyance at realising that without the copious amounts spent on takeouts, bad choices and pointless lotions and potions, it was affordable after all, and could have been undertaken sooner!

We know all of this because we listen and we care, pre-procedure, and for along time afterwards. We’re with you every step of the way, through the stalls (points throughout your journey when you don’t lose weight, but usually lose size) and the uncertainties and the fears about how it’ll change your life, to the big wins and achieving those all-important weight loss goals.

We have all of the resources right here in the United Kingdom to ensure your procedures are a success, and that you get the care and support you need, for as long as you need it!
