Mr Sigurdsson is member of both the British Obesity Surgery Society and the Association of Endoscopic Surgeons (UK and Ireland).
He qualified in medicine in Iceland in 1983 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1991. He was appointed Consultant Surgeon in Upper Gastrointestinal and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in 1999. He underwent training in advanced laparoscopic surgery in the USA.
Mr Sigurdsson is an Operative Instructor in Laparoscopic Surgery for hospitals in the West Midlands.
Mr Sigurdsson provides Gastric Balloon and Gastric Band procedures.
