Mr James Rink MB BChir, M Phil, FRCS (Eng)
Mr. Rink is a Consultant Surgeon and Clinical Lead for Upper-GI and Bariatric Surgery in Shrewsbury Hospital.
Following his graduation from Cambridge University Medical School, Mr Rink worked in East Anglia, the South West and on the South Coast. His specialist training was gained in the South-West Deanery, working in hospitals from Truro and Plymouth to Bath, Bristol and Gloucester. Having completed his training Mr Rink undertook fellowships in Bariatric and Specialist Upper GI Surgery at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester and the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
Mr Rink offers a specialist service which encompasses Bariatric (weight loss) Surgery and Advanced Laparoscopic (keyhole) Surgery. He also offers a comprehensive general surgical service.
He is a member of the following professional bodies:

- British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society
Mr Rink provides the Gastric Band and Gastric Balloon procedures in Shrewsbury Hospital.
